There was speculation the tough midfielder would be traded at the end of 2007 and this seemed to rejuvenate him as he had a fine 2008 season and followed up with another solid year in 2009. After finishing fourth in the best and fairest in 2008, he was 10th last year and, as always, was busy in and under the packs. His commitment could never be questioned and the 2005 premiership player sets a fine example for his younger teammates. He won 471 possessions to be third on the Swans’ list behind Rhyce Shaw (532) and Ryan O’Keefe (525).
