Assistant Accountant (12 Month Maternity Leave Contract)

POSITION DETAILS:
The Sydney Swans are currently accepting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals in the position of Assistant Accountant for a 12 month maternity leave contract.
Reporting to the Finance Manager in the Club’s Finance Department, this position will have prime responsibility for supporting the Finance Manager in the preparation and maintenance of the financial books and records of the Sydney Swans group of entities including SAFF. Reconciliations form a major part of this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reconcile all Sydney Swans Limited bank accounts.
• Reconcile BAS.
• Maintain the Club’s fixed assets register.
• Reconcile match day expenses.
• Maintain accurate reports on Club contra deal usage.
• Reconcile team travel expenses.
• Reconcile Club corporate accounts.
• Reconcile the Club’s telecommunications accounts.
• Ad-hoc projects for the Chief Financial Officer.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 2 years accounting/accounts assisting/bookkeeping experience.
• Proven reconciliation experience.
• Financially literate.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work in and around deadlines.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience working with Databases.
• Experience working with Asset software.
THE RIGHT PERSON WILL BE:
• Self motivated.
• Independent with an ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexible – posses an ability to multitask.
