L@SS - Ladies @ Sydney Swans

The club’s female fans should consider being part of Ladies @ Sydney Swans (L@SS), for those in New South Wales, or Ladies of the Lake (LOL) for Victorians.

You’re guaranteed to have a great year – just ask the hundreds of women who were involved in season 2012.

This year there was the L@SS inner-sanctum tour of the SCG, pre-season cocktail function, high-tea, and even group yum-cha just to name a few activities.

The highlight for most however – besides the Grand Final joy – was walking onto the SCG to form a guard of honour prior to the Swans-St Kilda match to help celebrate the AFL’s Women’s Round. It was an experience like no other.

“The banner was raised, 25 ladies either side, cheering, laughing and getting very excited,” Geraldine Burne recalled in the latest LOL newsletter.

“The players ran past, you could feel the tension as the passion and focus was on their faces, there was a job to be done and they were there for one purpose only … to win!”

That’s the beauty of being a member of L@SS or LOL; you’ll be closely connected to the Club and can attend frequent events with like-minded, passionate Swans women.

Another great feature is that they’re continually opening their doors so new people can get involved and become a L@SS.

L@SS recently launched a members-only Facebook group so everyone can keep in touch throughout the season.

Lynn Ralph, Sydney Swans Board Member and L@SS member, said people can expect an even better time next season by joining either group.

“It will be a combination of money-can’t-buy experiences and also getting closer to the club,” Ralph said.

On top of the lifetime experiences that come with being a member of L@SS or LOL is the feeling of taking the support of the Swans to another level.

“It’s also an opportunity for women to give back to the Club someway,” Ralph said. “Long-term, we’d love to sponsor a rookie or from time to time provide host families for young players coming into the Club.

“We’re constantly exploring ways that members of L@SS [and LOL] can have an opportunity to contribute back to their Club because at the end of the day that’s what they want.”

Get closer to the fun and the Club by joining Ladies @ Sydney Swans! For just $45 L@SS is a great way to connect with other female Swans members.

Anyone wanting to get involved in Ladies @ Sydney Swans can contact the Swans Offices on 1300 663 819 or visit the L@SS membership page here to join online.
