Sydney Swans fans are encouraged to raise their hands to help improve literacy and numeracy standards for Indigenous children at this weekend’s match at ANZ Stadium.

The Wall of Hands campaign truck will make a stop at Saturday night’s clash between the Swans and Collingwood, and will be an excellent opportunity for Sydney fans to show their support.

Sydney Swans Community Manager Maria Cosmidis said it’s easy for Swans fans to make their mark this weekend.

“On Saturday, the Wall of Hands truck will be out at ANZ Stadium, and there is a poster of our players on the back of the truck,” she said.

“The side of the truck is a blank canvas, where you pick a colour and you get your hand painted, and then you place your hand up on the canvas to show your support for the campaign.”

Swans star Lewis Jetta has already shown his support for the cause, and is an Ambassador for the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation.

Cosmidis said Swans fans can support Lewis by donating to his ‘Wall’ on the Wall of Hands website.

“This is the second year Lewis has been an ambassador and part of that is using his profile to encourage people to get involved,” she said.

“Lewis is particularly interested in charities that help young Indigenous kids to get the tools they need to succeed in life.

“He’s got his own Wall on the website, and the more people who donate to his wall and get involved in the campaign, then Lewis’ ranking increases.

“They track how many donations he gets and the Sydney Swans ranking, in terms of where we are compared to others who are also part of the campaign.”

To support Lewis and the Wall of Hands cause, make your mark on the campaign truck on Saturday night, located near Light Tower 5 at ANZ Stadium or visit www.wallofhands.com.au/Wall/View/674
