Sydney Swans speedster Gary Rohan is committed to the club, despite reports linking him with a move home to Geelong.

Rohan, contracted to the Swans until the end of 2017, played a vital role in his side's 38-point win over the club that is courting him, influencing the game with his toughness over the ball and his speed off the mark.

Originally from Cobden, 125km southwest of Geelong, Rohan said he could not see himself moving anytime soon.

"It hasn't played on my mind at all. I'm still contracted to the Swans until the end of next year and we'll go from there," Rohan told AFL.com.au.

"I'll commit to the Swans. I'm loving it there. I'm playing senior footy there and I've just bought a house.

"Everything's going well and I'm loving my time at the Swans."

Rohan had just 10 disposals against Geelong but both his ability to bring the ball to ground, and the threat his speed posed to the Cats' defensive zone, were vital to the Swans' win.

He missed the first eight games of the season with a serious hamstring injury but has really started to hit his straps over the past few weeks.

The 25-year-old, who has now played 67 games since making his debut in round seven, 2010, said he was starting to gain confidence in his body, after an injury-riddled beginning to his career.

"The body's feeling good and probably the biggest thing is to get my confidence back within my body," Rohan said.

"I'm slowly getting there with when I get the ball, to take off again and get that pace and run back in my game.

"Every game I'm getting more confident with my body and I've just got to keep going."

Swans coach John Longmire said Rohan's pace and hardness made him an essential member of the team as the team sorts out its best line-up ahead of the finals series.

"He's been pretty good for us when he's played this year," Longmire said.

"He doesn't have to get a lot of the ball to have a real impact."

"He's so quick and he's so hard in our front half, so he's really important."
