Over 700 games of experience returns to an extended squad chosen ahead of Sunday's encounter with Fremantle.

Co-captain Jarrad McVeigh has been given the green light to join his teammates on the flight to Perth after the 31-year-old was deemed fit and ready for the Round 19 clash at Subiaco.

McVeigh was given both training sessions this week to prove his fitness after a groin complain forced his withdrawal from last weekend's clash with Carlton.

He joins experienced duo Ted Richards and Ben McGlynn in the 25-man squad.

Young ruckman Toby Nankervis, predicted as the man to replace injured big man Callum Sinclair (knee) earlier in the week, rounds out the changes.

Speaking to SwansTV for this week's Centrum Team Selection, coach John Longmire said the co-captain did all what was required to justify his recall.

"He ran Tuesday, then did everything required of him on Thursday so now it's just a matter of seeing how he goes in Perth," he said.

"It'll give us some more time to make a decision on whether or not he plays."

Both Richards and McGlynn played for the NEAFL Swans last weekend, performing strongly to earn selection after being omitted ahead of last week's clash with the Blues.

Nankervis hasn't featured at senior level since Round 8 but has starred for the NEAFL Swans in recent weeks to be an ideal replacement for the injured Sinclair who on Wednesday was ruled out for the next four to six weeks.

The make-up of the final side will be determined by 5pm on Friday.
