The Sydney Swans' final membership tally is in.

A total of 56,523 members have signed up this season, a record-breaking year in the history of the Sydney Swans/South Melbourne Football Club.

After reaching the magical 50,000 mark in April, that number has continued to rise to consolidate the Swans' position as one of the most passionately supported clubs in the AFL.

Head of Consumer Business Natalie Fagg said the achievement was significant in many ways and wanted to thank one and all for their valued throughout season 2016.

"From a Club's persepective, it's extraordinary how far we've come," Fagg said.

"What's exciting is that tally has been growing every year since 2010.

"A large portion of that are younger members and that's also exciting. It's a reflection of that generational support. What we're starting to see are members who were born as members.

"It's a wonderful achievement and we couldn't be more prouder of our our fan base and thankful for their ongoing support."

It's a timely milestone given this week is Member Recognition Round, in which members and supporters are recognised for their enormous contribution not only financially but for their passionate voice week after week.

On behalf of the Sydney Swans Football Club, thank you to all our members and supporters for their ongoing support!
