Rhyce Shaw aims to achieve what no Sydney Swans coach has done before when the Swans and Giants do battle in Sunday's NEAFL Grand Final.

Since the competition's amalgamation in 2011, the Swans have fallen short in every one of their four Grand Final appearances.

The last came in 2014 when, with Jared Crouch at the reins and the likes of Ryan O'Keefe, Tom Mitchell, Isaac Heeney and Callum Mills running around, Aspley pinched a thrilling come-from-behind win.

Having names what's been touted as the strongest reserves side ever named, Shaw has the perfect opportunity to re-write the history books and claim the Club's maiden NEAFL flag.

"We've had a fantastic season and the boys have produced some really good football," Shaw said.

"They really deserve to be in this spot and hopefully all goes well on Sunday."

Both sides are teeming with AFL-listed players for the do-or-die clash at Blacktown International Sportspark, with a combined 36 from the clubs' senior and rookie lists named.

SELECTION: Experienced named for Sunday's finale

For the NEAFL Swans, 10 players have featured at AFL level this season alone including defenders Ted Richards and Jeremy Laidler while the likes of Harry Cunningham, Zak Jones, Dean Towers, Dan Robinson and Toby Nankervis will also feature.

The Giants' list also runs very deep, with Shaw picking out 17 AFL-listed players that he'll be wary of leading up to the 1.30pm opening bounce.

"It's a great effort by the Club to get all those guys up and about," Shaw added.

"We haven't got many injuries at all and that only strengthens the senior group and then our reserves team.

"So as a Club we're in a strong position to not only launch into Sunday but the rest of the seniors' finals series."

Of the NEAFL Swans' three losses this season, two have come at the hands of GWS, in Round 11 at Spotless Stadium and Round 17 at the SCG.

FROM THE COACH: "We need to bring our best, for longer"

The cross-town rivals have exchanged many a blow since the league's and Giants' inception in 2011, the Swans narrowly leading the head-to-head battle 11-10.

Shaw, however, says history is history and believes whoever brings their best football on the day will triumph.

"It's a pretty simple fix, if we can play our best for longer than we have (before) we give ourselves a good chance."
