A relaxed Lance Frankin has encouraged his teammates to embrace the build-up that comes with playing in a Grand Final.

Franklin will line up in his fourth Grand Final on Saturday afternoon when the Swans take to the SCG.

The star forward has been instrumental in the Swans surge towards the premiership decider and collected 19 disposals to go with his two goals on Friday night.

“We just have to soak it up now because it doesn’t happen often that you get into a Grand Final, I am just overawed,” Franklin told Channel Seven post match.

“It has been a really good year from all the boys this year and to get to a Grand Final it has been a lot of hard work.

“It is going to be an unbelievable game whoever we play next week.”

Franklin and rookie Tom Papley are forging an incredible partnership in the forward line over the last few weeks.

Papley has booted seven goals in the last two weeks with his pressure around the football to lock it inside the forward 50 influential.

Franklin praised the performance of his fellow forwards including Papley, Ben McGlynn, Gary Rohan and Isaac Heeney.

“Paps is in his first year of football and sometimes you forget that,” Franklin said.

“He kicked three this week and four last week so that is an unbelievable effort from a first year player to come in and hit the scoreboard like that.

“Everyone is hitting the scoreboard which definitely helps.”
