We take a closer look at some of the potential first round draftees ahead of the National Draft to be held in Sydney on November 25.

The Club will enter the National Draft with live selections at pick 9, 19, 46 and 49.

The following are four of the potential draft prospects predicted by experts to go within the first round.

Joe Atley – Bendigo Pioneers/Vic Country
Height: 186cm
Weight: 84kg
Position: Midfielder

A hard inside midfielder who has shown an ability to win his own football in most situations, Atley is expected to garner plenty of interest from clubs. The younger brother of North Melbourne half-back Shaun Atley, he shows aggression that is hard to match. A consistent performer for the whole season for the Bendigo Pioneers in the TAC Cup. Not only is Atley able to win the hard footy but he is just as effective without the ball as a tackling machine.

Jarrod Berry - North Ballarat Rebels
Height: 191cm
Weight: 80kg
Position: Midfielder/Half-back

An All Australian as a bottom-ager caught the attention of many during the 2015 season. The 191cm draft prospect has developed into a midfielder this season after winning All Australian honours as a rebounding half back. Has had a few issues with shoulder injuries this season but is flexible enough to be able to play in a wide range of positions. Known as one of the best characters of this year’s draft pool his leadership may also be attractive to clubs after he captained VIC Metro and North Ballarat in 2016. Joint winner of the beep test (level 15.1) and claimed the 3km time trial in a time of 9.46 minutes.

Shai Bolton – South Fremantle / Western Australia
Height: 177cm
Weight: 67kg
Position: Small forward

Bolton has talent like few others in the current crop of youngsters vying for a position on an AFL list. He can leap in the air to take the big mark of rove the pack and stream into an open goal. Playing across the half forward line he has shown an ability to send the ball long and deep into the forward 50 which is damaging against any defence. Has some real x-factor around goal but his downside is his consistency. Was impressive during the U18 championships and playing for South Fremantle in the WAFL throughout the 2016 season.

Will Brodie – Murray Bushrangers / Vic Country
Height: 189cm
Weight: 82kg
Position: Midfielder

One of the most consistent midfielders at underage level throughout the 2016 Brodie is expected to be taken within the top ten. A hard at it ball winner the big-bodied midfielder was consistent for the Murray Bushrangers for much of the season at TAC Cup level. He averaged 21 disposals a game (10 contested) for Vic Country in the U18 National Championships. His ability to set up teammates with quick and accurate handballs sets him apart from other midfielders in this draft pool. Has a strong determination and as a consistent performer throughout the season has shown he is dependable prospect.
