Dedication to the red and white that goes above and beyond has seen long-time Swans member Pat McLindin named Sydney’s new No. 1 ticket holder.

Pat McLindin has held a Swans reserved seat for 28 years (while living in Canberra!) and has been at the helm of the Sydney Swans ACT Supporters Group for 10 years.

Swans Ambassador and former politician Annette Ellis wrote to us, highlighting McLindin’s commitment to her beloved team:

Prior to the NEAFL competition, our reserves used to play regularly in Canberra in the local reserves competition. Pat and her late husband Darryl took responsibility for supporting the team every time they travelled here. They would do the shopping for the supplies needed by the players, like breakfasts and other meals, and allocate these supplies to each of the rooms at the team motel prior to the players’ arrival.

Today, on the rare occasion that our Reserves are playing in Canberra, Pat makes sure everyone knows and encourages them to go along and support the team.

Pat is also the convenor of our ACT Supporters Group. She organises the charter bus we use for each of the home games in Sydney and allocates members to host each of those trips. This includes raffles, lucky door prizes, etc. She takes care to ensure everyone involved is well and comfortable.

Pat also organises fundraising events, advises members how to obtain tickets, encourages members to join the bus trips, warmly welcomes friends who may support the opposite team in any week, and treats everyone on these trips in a warm and welcoming way.

We simply couldn’t imagine our group without Pat at the helm!
