Coffs Harbour will host the Sydney Swans for a pre-season training camp after the pre-season fixture against North Melbourne in February.

The Swans will open their pre-season against North Melbourne on Sunday, February 19 at C.ex Coffs International Stadium.

Following the match the team will remain in Coffs Harbour for a three-day pre-season training camp – the fifth year in a row that the Swans have held their training camp there.

Sydney’s Head of Football Tom Harley said the team is looking forward to returning and spending time in the Coffs Harbour community.

“The Swans have always enjoyed a strong connection with the Coffs Harbour community through our QBE Sydney Swans Coffs Harbour Academy and our pre-season training camps. February’s trip will only see that connection grow stronger,” Harley said.

“The facility at C.ex Coffs International Stadium is outstanding and our team has always enjoyed spending an important part of the pre-season there.

“We’re really looking forward to returning to Coffs and taking on North Melbourne in front of a strong home crowd.”

Coffs Harbour City Council’s Group Leader City Prosperity, Nikki Greenwood, said the city last hosted an AFL pre-season match in 2015, when a crowd of more than 4,000 people watched the Sydney Swans take on the Brisbane Lions.

“That was a highly successful event and we’re thrilled to be able to welcome the Sydney Swans back to C.ex Coffs International Stadium, as well as – once again – hosting a pre-season fixture.”

Tickets to the match against North Melbourne will go on sale early 2017. Swans members with match entitlements can scan their membership card for FREE ENTRY (subject to capacity).

Members can also upgrade their membership to a reserved seat or register for a ticket to guarantee their entry (subject to availability, upgrade fees may be applicable).

More details of the Sydney Swans pre-season visit to Coffs Harbour will be announced in the coming weeks.
