Ahead of the Club’s opening game of the JLT Community Series against North Melbourne in Coffs Harbour, the Sydney Swans headed to the picturesque Mid North Coast to explore the region.

It was some trip for Swans stars Jarrad McVeigh, Dan Hannebery, Nick Smith and Luke Parker, with the players taking in some unforgettable sights and activities.

From lunch perched high on the hills of Sawtell’s stunning coastline, a bush walk through Dorrigo National Park to exploring the hidden gem that is Dangar Falls and a hit of golf at Bonville Golf Resort, the trip had it all.

Swans veteran Jarrad McVeigh said it was an unbelievable visit to Coffs Harbour and that he’s looking forward to returning with his teammates next week.

“It’s been a fantastic trip, there’s so much you can do around Coffs Harbour,” McVeigh said.

“We went to the beach yesterday, then drove half an hour and we’re at an amazing waterfall which was one of the highlights.

“To be able to do that all in one day and a range of different activities, it’s a fantastic place to come.

“We can’t wait to get back up here. We have our first hit-out against North Melbourne, the boys are playing the intra-club on Friday night and then we get into the real stuff against opposition which everyone’s waiting for – it will be good to see a lot of our young players start their AFL careers.”

The Swans will be returning to Coffs Harbour next week when the new football season gets underway with the JLT Community Series against North Melbourne on Sunday, 19 February at C.ex Coffs International Stadium.

The whole squad will be in town for the clash, with the Swans to set up camp for the sixth straight year on the Coffs Coast.

While the game will be the focus of the trip, the Swans will also use the occasion to visit kids at schools, meet and greet the elderly at a nursing home, run a clinic for up and coming juniors and enjoy a team activity at one of the many attractions around the region.

Swans members get access to the match for free, while supporters can purchase tickets here.
