Red v White.

Swan v Swan.

Mate v mate.

Sydney Swans football was back in a big way on Friday night as the boys took on each other in the 2017 #swansintra practice match at Henson Park in Marrickville.

The two squads, made up of senior, rookie and academy-listed players, took to the field despite scorching temperatures in their first competitive four-quarter hitout of the year.

Sam Reid made a successful comeback from injury, Isaac Heeney starred right across the ground, Zak Jones provided plenty of zip through the middle as well while former skipper Kieren Jack showed his attributes as a small forward.

Getty Images was boundary side to capture the action. Check out the pick of the bunch below.

First-year recruit Robbie Fox was lively up forward.

Sam Reid shrugged off the nerves early to slot one of his two goals for the afternoon in the opening quarter.

Kurt Tippett followed suit shortly after.

He wasn't playing today but Lance Franklin (centre) wasn't too far from the action. Callum Sinclair (left) and Jeremy Laidler joining him on the boundary line.

Dan Hannebery feels the heat at half-time.

As does Tippo.

Brett Kirk talks to his charges at half-time.

Head coach John Longmire has a one-on-one with Kieren Jack.

Callum Mills flies high!

The sun sets on this year's #swansintra but it's about to rise on the season ahead.
