It was the goal that had the football world talking over the weekend and now superstar forward Lance Franklin has been nominated for the AFL Goal of the Year.

As Buddy bounded down the wing at the Adelaide Oval it provided memories reminiscent of his run down with wing at the MCG against Essendon in 2010.

After his third bounce he managed to gather and finish from the tightest of angles 45 metres out on the boundary line to lift his side.

Franklin has already been nominated for the AFL Goal of the Year during the 2017 season.

The Swans superstar will be up against Port Adelaide forward Sam Gray and Essendon defender Conor McKenna who were also nominated from the weekend of football.
