Sydney Swans Head of Football Tom Harley expects big man Kurt Tippett will be playing for the Swans next season.

Tippett managed just nine games this season after suffering ankle injuries that curtailed his season.

Harley said there had been no discussion on trading the ruckman during the trade period.

“It hasn’t been discussed – he is contracted at this stage,” Harley said.

“We come in with a pretty open mind because all of our important players are signed and contracted so the point we take is that you have to keep all options open.”

“I am not pre-empting anything with Kurt.”

Harley said TIppett has given no indication that he would be searching for a new club in season 2018.

“No he hasn’t.”

“He had a frustrating year physically with a hip and an ankle so he just has to recover over the off-season and throw himself into the new season with us.”
