The Sydney Swans have not yet explored the prospect of picking up Melbourne forward Jack Watts during the trade period.

Watts has been told to explore his options of finding a new home by the Demons after eight years with the Club.

Head of Football Tom Harley said Watts’ name had not been discussed by the club’s list management team at this point.

“I have probably read more about it then we have discussed internally to be honest,” Harley said.

“Our priorities this year were Sam Reid as a free agent and Zak Jones as a good young player and we signed them.”

“We go in with an open mind but nothing has really progressed in that space.”

Rumours circulated on Monday morning that the key forward was in Sydney for the day touring the club’s facilities.

Harley laughed at the suggestions with the Swans list management team all at Etihad Stadium for the beginning of trade talks.

“If he is in Sydney well John, myself and Kinnear are here,” Harley laughed.

“I don’t know if he is in Sydney today but I wouldn’t have thought so.”
