Head of Football Tom Harley has been “happy” with the Sydney Swans’ minimal movement at the trade period, stating that’s unlikely to change before the Thursday afternoon deadline.

Sydney hasn’t made any move in what has been largely a quiet trade period in comparison to previous years.

At this stage two players, midfielder Dan Robinson and rookie Sam Murray, have been open in seeking opportunities elsewhere while ruckman Kurt Tippett and defender Aliir Aliir has been discussed externally as a possible target for clubs.

Harley says the Swans’ focus earlier in the year was to reinvest in the stocks they already owned, directly referring to the nine players who signed contract extensions earlier in season 2017.

Speaking on SEN Breakfast on Tuesday, Harley was straight forward when pressed on whether the Swans had any surprises up their sleeves before Thursday’s 2pm deadline.

“I wouldn’t have thought so,” Harley told SEN radio.

“Our priority was pretty clear throughout the year with the list we (already) have. We can quite clearly improve but our priority was to lock down some key players.

“We started that with some of the younger players like (Isaac) Heeney, (Callum) Mills and alike, then finished up with (Sam) Reid as a free agent and Zak Jones as a dashing half-back.

“They were our priorities which probably made our hands a little tied through the trade period but we’re happy with that.”

On the matter of Robinson and Murray, Harley says both remain part of the Club’s plans moving forward but would be open to exploring a move if the right deal came along.

Collingwood has reportedly shown interest in Murray, a speedy defender who played 16 games in the NEAFL this season.

Harley emphatically ruled out trading Tippett or Aliir.
