Former South Melbourne player Vic Castles was posthumously inducted into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.

The Tasmanian played 100 games for South Melbourne in the 1940s, including the 1945 grand final against Carlton.

His playing career spaned from 1940-1952, with his longest stint with any club being with South Melbourne when he booted 139 goals.

Castles was born in Ulverstone in 1918 and passed away in 1993 at the age of 75.
