The Sydney Swans have boosted their midfield stocks by securing Ryan Clarke from North Melbourne in exchange for pick 61.

The Swans received pick 61 from the Geelong Cats in a trade for Gary Rohan.

Clarke is a medium sized midfielder who has a large tank and is a prolific ball winner.

He joined North Melbourne in the 2015 National Draft as their second-round selection and has played 40 games, including 19 matches in 2018.

The 21-year-old averaged 20 disposals a game this year.

Sydney Swans Head of Football Tom Harley says the Club’s rapt to secure Clarke.

“We’re really happy to finalise a trade for Ryan from North Melbourne,” Harley said.

“At only 21 years of age and 40 games under his belt we think he has a lot of upside and will add some great depth to our midfield.

“We look forward to welcoming Ryan to Sydney and him joining our exciting young list.”
