Sydney Swans youngsters James Bell and Durak Tucker are next week set to attend the 2019 AFL All Stars Indigenous Summit in Adelaide.

The Summit is held every two years and was established to support the personal and professional development of the game’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players, with this year’s event celebrating cultural identity.

Sydney midfielder Bell says it’s vitally important events like the Indigenous Summit have a place on the calendar.

“It’s the oldest living culture in the world and I think that needs to be recognised, and one way of doing that is by holding Indigenous camps like this,” Bell told Swans Media.

“We still have a connection with the land and we need to celebrate that.”
