In 2011, Jetta was known as a talented, inconsistent player full of potential.

By the end of 2012, he was a budding superstar.

An arduous pre-season gave him the stamina to go with his blistering pace and he became a nightmare prospect for opposition defences.

Leading the Swans with 45 goals for the year and adding important tackling pressure, only a minor dip in form late in the season cost him All-Australian selection.

Jetta’s highlights included a career-best 27 disposals against Adelaide in round six and a three-goal haul in the preliminary final victory over Collingwood, which included a scintillating 90m solo goal.

Draft history: 2009 NAB AFL Draft 1st round selection (Sydney) No. 14 overall.

2013 Coaches Call

2012 was fantastic. He is really exciting to watch. He trained really hard, he followed Kieren Jack around and did so much hard work in the pre-season and he deserved everything he got, and what he got was a premiership. His hard work really paid off for him.

Pre-season has been terrific. He’s come back really well, possibly the best he’s ever come back since he’s been at the club and it’s really showed. His exuberance around the club and his pace and energy at training and his understanding of his role means he has set himself up for another big year.

We hope in 2013 that he continues on from last year of getting the balance right of when he attacks and when he defends and plays his role. He’s a very smart player at the stoppages and he’s very good at understanding what needs to be done, and his leadership out on the ground is amazing really. He has a lot of respect within the playing group for understanding the game and knowing what needs to get done.
