McGlynn had a terrific second year in Sydney, finishing ninth in the best and fairest and earning a place in the Australian side that took on Ireland in the International Rules Series.

Led the club in goalkicking for much of the season, ending the year with 30 goals, second only to Adam Goodes.

Increased defensive attention led to McGlynn adopting a tagging role in the latter part of the year and he is keen on a permanent role in the midfield.
