His first year on the Swans list was one of frustration for the 2010 first-round NAB AFL Draft pick.

Having appeared during the NAB Cup, Lamb was taken to Perth as an emergency against West Coast in round three as he made steady progress.

But a persistent hamstring problem forced him to the sidelines for 14 weeks.
The small forward returned to the reserves late in the year and aims to work on his fitness and add bulk to his slender frame during the pre-season.

Coaches' call:

2011 was …. An injury interrupted season for Jed. But it was also a year where he started to learn how hard he needs to work and what’s required to be a professional athlete. In the Reserves he showed he has rare AFL talent and makes decisions and uses the ball in a way many others can’t.

Preseason has been … all about conditioning. The game now demands certain things if you’re a small forward or a midfielder. You have to be super fit because of the recent rule changes. Jed has shown improvements but needs to go to the next level and learn how to really game run.

We hope in 2012 … His goal should be to break into the senior team and if that opportunity comes, he should make the most of it, and work hard to be that small, pressure forward that every team needs.
