Played his first game in round eight following off-season surgery to fix a hamstring problem.

Upon his return, the defender showed his versatility by filling a role up forward and backing up Shane Mumford in the ruck.

Entered the season with 14 goals from 133 games, but managed 12 in 15 games last season, including two hauls of three.

A staunch clubman, Roberts-Thomson was thrilled to extend his contract until 2013.

Coaches' call:

2011 was… he had a different role where he played as a key forward and helped Shane Mumford with the ruck duties. He played some solid games up forward but he had an injury interrupted year.

His pre-season has been… interrupted by injury again but he played his first pre-season match against North Melbourne at Bruce Purser Reserve.

In 2012 we want to see… him injury-free and being able to be a versatile player that we can use as a key defender, or if we need to, as a forward and ruckman.
