The youngster showed his enormous potential in 2011 and it was no surprise the Swans signed him to a new five-year deal at the end of the season.

Held down centre half-forward all season, sitting out just one game in round 24 due to calf tightness.

Has terrific hands and led Sydney with 45 contested marks.

Needs to add bulk to his frame and improve on a return of 22.26 in front of goal but has all the hallmarks of a future star.

Coaches' call:

2011 was… a really consistent year. He continually plays his role week in week out without too much fuss. I thought for him, his first year of senior footy playing at centre-half-forward was really positive.

His pre-season has been… better than last year when he had a really short pre-season. This year he has pretty much done everything so it’s been a ripping pre-season for him. He’s made massive strength gains – upper body and lower body – his fitness has improved and he improved across the board significantly so he had a good pre-season.

In 2012 we want to see… we’re not putting too many expectations on him, just a natural improvement. You will start to see improvement naturally because of the strength gains he’s made in the gym and some fitness gains as well he should be able to cover the ground a bit better. Still, we’re just looking for him to play his role.
