Sydney Swans Trivia Night

More than 150 Sydney Swans members and fans have tested their knowledge against the most intelligent players in the Swans team. Held at Paddington RSL, the 2010 Sydney Swans Trivia Night once again proved to be a highlight on the Sydney Swans Event calendar.

The Chaser’s Craig Reucassel, a Sydney Swans Ambassador, performed the role of MC and was a hit with the guests.

The Swans players joined different teams throughout the evening to provide an extra resource which proved invaluable. Some players were up to date on the Australian History and Current Affairs rounds, whilst others specialised in the Entertainment round, particularly questions related to the Simpsons. All players added to the answer sheet for the Wide World of Sports and the Cheer, Cheer the Red & the White rounds.

The heads and tails revealed some very interesting statistics for the 2010 season to date, including that Jude Bolton has more contested possessions than Kieren Jack so far this season, however Kieren has more tackles against his name than Jude. The winner took home a Hampers Only – Sweet Seduction Chocolate Gift Hamper, valued at over $100 and a $50 Bing Lee Gift Card.

A highlight of the evening was the round entitled Know Your Swans – an entire round of questions written by the Swans players themselves. It was a chance to find out some very interesting facts about the Swans. Did you know that Jude Bolton and former Essendon player Matthew Lloyd went to the same school? Or that Ryan O’Keefe occasionally lends his MasterChef skills to the restaurant Eleven at King Street Wharf? Or that Nick Smith has two middle names – Justin and Wilkinson!

Three birthdays were celebrated around the room, with one guest of honour receiving an extra birthday present - a $50 Bing Lee Gift Card in the lucky door draw. Many others walked away with prizes, including a 2010 Sydney Swans team signed guernsey, in additional lucky door draws and the raffle.

Ted Richards’ team was victorious in the trivia on the night, with each member of the team taking home $250 cash.

The Sydney Swans would like to thank all of those who attended, and also Bing Lee, MSA, Hampers Only, Papermate, Red Rooster and Universal Pictures for providing the prizes.
