Exciting speedster Oliver Florent has extended his commitment to the Sydney Swans until at least the end of the 2024 season, signing a two-year contract extension.

The 23-year-old has become an integral part of Sydney’s team since the club secured him with its first selection in the 2016 AFL draft.

The midfielder celebrated his 100th career game in Round 7 this year, having now played 106 games across six seasons in the red and white.

“It means a lot to me to play for this club and I feel very grateful to be given the opportunity to remain here for another two seasons,” Florent said.

“Since coming to the club I've learned a lot from our leaders and coaches, especially John (Longmire), and our team is constantly driving each other to be better every day.

“It feels like we’re building something special and I’m excited by what the future holds.”

Executive GM – Football Charlie Gardner said the club is thrilled to secure Florent for the next two seasons.

“We have watched Ollie grow and develop his game over the past six years in Sydney and we see him as an important part of our team in the coming years,” Gardiner said.

“He is a humble and popular member of our squad and part of an important young group who are growing in experience and confidence each year, while remaining hungry to improve.

“Ollie is coming off arguably his best season in 2021 and has shown great versatility in roles through the midfield and in defence this year, impacting games with his speed and ball use.

“We are excited that Ollie has extended his commitment with the Swans, demonstrating the confidence and belief he has in the direction we are going as a club.”
