The Sydney Swans will wait and see on how young forward George Hewett recovers during the week before deciding whether he is fit to take on Greater Western Sydney.

Hewett left the field during the opening quarter with concussion after suffering a heavy knock in a contested ball collision.

Coach John Longmire said post-game it was important to ensure the correct process was followed before clearing Hewett to play.

“He was ruled out for the rest of the game so we will just have to see how he goes during the week before we make a decision on him,” Longmire said.

“The rest of the boys are ok which is good.”

After being a late withdrawal against Gold Coast on Saturday night Callum Mills looks set to return to face the Giants.

Due to the wet conditions in Queensland and given Mills is a first year player the decision was made to give the 19-year-old a rest.

“We didn’t play Callum Mills tonight because he has had an enormous work load but he has been terrific for us this season across half back,” Longmire said post match.

Sam Reid continues his road to a return to the senior side after playing his second consecutive match for the NEAFL side on Saturday.
