Up and coming utility Dan Robinson is the latest Sydney Swans player to put pen to paper signing a two-year contract extension.
The 22-year-old played the opening seven games of the season before being struck down by a serious shoulder injury that required reconstructive surgery.
Robinson has not put a foot wrong in his rehabilitation and is back training with the team.
A QBE Sydney Swans Academy product, Robinson was recruited with Pick 51 in the Rookie Draft in 2012.
Robinson, who grew up in Mosman in Sydney’s north, spent his first two years on the Swans’ list biding his time in the NEAFL before getting an opportunity to make his senior debut in Round 9, 2015 against Carlton.
General Manager of Football Tom Harley says it’s great to have another player commit their future to the Swans.
“We’re excited Dan has decided to commit to the Club until at least the end of 2018,” Harley said.
“Dan came through the QBE Sydney Swans Academy and worked his way onto the senior list to play the first seven games this year.
“Dan has showed versatility and poise in his short career so far, and although he hasn’t played since injuring his shoulder, we believe he has a bright future with the Swans.”
Robinson joins Kieren Jack, Nick Smith, Luke Parker, Gary Rohan, Jeremy Laidler, Harry Cunningham, George Hewett, Aliir Aliir, Jake Lloyd and Tom Papley in recommitting to the Swans this season.
