Academy: Swans on the look out in Coffs

Sydney Swans player Jake Brown joined the QBE Sydney Swans Academy after growing up in Coffs Harbour.

The QBE Sydney Swans Academy Talent ID program will have a strong presence at the upcoming state Oztag tournament, being held Feb 9-11 in Coffs Harbour.

During the carnival, Academy staff will look to identify first-choice athletes with the potential to play AFL football.

The Academy provides a professional, age-appropriate program for gifted athletes that allows them to prepare to play at the highest level, while providing a pathway to professional sport.

Young talented athletes are encouraged to try out for the Academy, regardless of their sporting background or if they’ve had prior AFL experience.

The Academy encourages athletes to play multiple sports to continue to grow their skill set.

Want to get involved?

If you will be at the championships and think you have what it takes to be a QBE Sydney Swans Academy player, or if you would like to nominate someone, please contact the Academy.

Be sure to provide: player name, date of birth, Oztag team and age.
