The Sydney Swans have named their strongest side of the pre-season for tonight’s JLT Series match against the Giants.

It will be the last official hit out of the pre-season before the season opener against West Coast at Optus Stadium on March 25.

Zak Jones has been named for his first game of the pre-season as he returns from injury with Dan Hannebery, Heath Grundy and Jarrad McVeigh the three stars set to miss.

Callum Sinclair and Aliir Aliir are out of the side that won the opening JLT Series match against the Lions as they recover from minor ankle strains.

Head of Football Tom Harley said the shortened pre-season competition led to a change in tactics for the Swans.

“We have taken a slightly different approach to JLT games this year with ramping up really quickly in terms of getting minutes into our best players,” Harley said.

“We certainly are putting out the best team we can.

“It is an important hit out for us and we are really fortunate that we get to stay in Sydney and play against a really top calibre side.

“I would encourage everyone to have a look because we will certainly be putting our best foot forward.”

Sam Naismith who injured his knee at training during the week is the only player to have been ruled out of Round 1 action.
