Gary Rohan has been nominated for the AFL Goal of the Year for Round 12 for his thrilling goal during the third quarter of Saturday night's win over St Kilda.

It was a return to form for Rohan in the second half as he kicked two goals, but his first is the one that caught the attention of the Goal of the Year judges.

As the ball sails towards the half forward line, Rohan contests the marking contest before running onto the ball, using his pace to get away from a number of St Kilda opponents and finishing with class.

GWS Giants Josh Kelly and Fremantle forward Tommy Sheridan will both be competing for the Round 12 award.

Voting will close on Thursday night.
