Sydney backman Aliir Aliir was the only Swan to poll in the AFL Coaches’ Association’s Champion Player of the Year award after the loss to Geelong.

The key defender was a shining light in the Swans’ 12-point loss, gathering 19 possessions, a game-high eight marks and operating with 84 per cent disposal efficiency in the SCG clash.

Geelong’s Mitch Duncan earned a perfect 10 votes, while Tim Kelly (eight), Joel Selwood (five) and Tom Stewart (three) also fired.
