Aliir Aliir among votes

Aliir Aliir received four votes in the latest AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year voting.

Sydney backman Aliir Aliir was the only Swan to poll in the AFL Coaches’ Association’s Champion Player of the Year award after the loss to Geelong.

The key defender was a shining light in the Swans’ 12-point loss, gathering 19 possessions, a game-high eight marks and operating with 84 per cent disposal efficiency in the SCG clash.

Geelong’s Mitch Duncan earned a perfect 10 votes, while Tim Kelly (eight), Joel Selwood (five) and Tom Stewart (three) also fired.
