In a triple treat for Swans fans, Sydney defender Heath Grundy has become the third player to re-sign with the Club in as many days.

The 32-year-old has penned a one-year contract extension and is set to play on for a 15th season, linking him with the Swans until at least the end of 2019.

Grundy has joined veteran defender Jarrad McVeigh and ruckman Sam Naismith in re-committing to the Swans this week.

Sydney’s 42nd pick in the 2005 Rookie Draft started as a forward but it is in the backline where he has played out the majority of his career.

Grundy has played 254 games so far in red and white, including the 2012 Premiership, averaging 23 games a season for the past 10 years.

Sydney Swans Head of Football Tom Harley says it’s great to have Grundy on board for another season.

“We’re rapt to have Heath continue his outstanding playing career at the Swans for another season,” Harley said.

“Heath has been such a reliable and valuable member of our team for a long time now and it’s great he’ll be playing on again in 2019.

“He’s an outstanding clubman, a premiership player and a key member of our backline, and we look forward to him continuing his career into a 15th year.”

A host of other Swans have also re-signed this year, including Aliir Aliir, Will Hayward, Ben Ronke, Ryley Stoddart, Joel Amartey, Matt Ling, as well as McVeigh and Naismith.
