The Sydney Swans will get their 2019 campaign underway in a clash with the Western Bulldogs at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Saturday, March 23, but fans have plenty to look forward to ahead of the season proper.

Inter-club match

February 22

Sydney will take on GWS in a pre-season hit-out at Blacktown International Sportspark from 9:30am on Friday.

The match will be streamed live on sydneyswans.com.au and through the Official Sydney Swans Club App for fans not able to attend the game.

AFLX

February 22

Get your first glimpse of the year of four of the Swans’ biggest stars as Josh Kennedy, Isaac Heeney, Aliir Aliir and Luke Parker lace up the boots for AFLX at Marvel Stadium from 7:10pm on Friday.

Kennedy, Heeney and Aliir will pull on a guernsey alongside Flyers skipper Nat Fyfe, while Parker is set to run out with Patrick Dangerfield’s Bolts.

Both Channel 7 and Fox Footy will broadcast the games.

JLT Community Series

March 2, March 10

Sydney will again lock horns with GWS just one week after the inter-club fixture, with the Swans set to play their first of two JLT Community Series games against their cross-city rival at Blacktown International Sportspark from 7:10pm on Saturday, March 2.

The Swans will then round out their preparation for the 2019 campaign in a duel with the Gold Coast Suns at Oakes Oval in Lismore from 1:10pm.

NEAFL trial matches

March 16, March 23, March 30

The Swans’ NEAFL side will ramp up the pre-season sweat with three trial matches all scheduled to be held in Sydney.

The Swans will first take on Sydney University at Marrickville’s Henson Park from 11:00am on Saturday, March 16.

They will then meet the Canberra Demons at Sutherland’s Waratah Oval from 12pm on Saturday, March 23, before squaring off with GWS at Sydney Olympic Park’s Tom Wills Oval from 11:00am on Saturday, March 30.

Melbourne Fan Day

March 24

The Swans’ 2019 Melbourne Fan Day will be held in Badminton Hall at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre between 8:30am and 10:30am on Sunday, March 24.

The Fan Day will follow the Swans’ clash with the Bulldogs the night before, and entry will be free.

Players will be in attendance between 9:00am and 10:30am.
