Sydney Swans ruckman Callum Sinclair addressed the media ahead of training at the SCG on Tuesday afternoon.

The 200-centimetre giant will run out for his 100th AFL match as Sydney meets Hawthorn at the SCG on Friday night.

Here are some key quotes from the press conference.

Sinclair on his journey to 100 games

"It's something I'm personally really proud of, and it's really special for myself and my family to play 100 games of AFL footy. It seems like only yesterday that I was really keen to be given one opportunity at the AFL level, so to be aproaching 100 games is something I'm really proud of. I finished school, started playing local footy and from there progressed to the VFL. I did a couple of National Draft camps, was unsuccessful in getting drafted and moved to Western Australia to play in the WAFL for Subiaco. I played some consistent footy, West Coast saw a little bit in me to give me an opportunity on a rookie list, I had three fantastic seasons there and then in 2015 I had an opportunity to move to Sydney and play for this great club. That's a bit of a snapshot of my journey. I was extremely determined to live out my dream, but obiouvsly when you're getting knocked back at a few National Draft camps, you have a few injuries and you're not playing the way you want to play, your confidence can take a hit. But I got to a stage after a couple of years in the VFL that I just wanted to play at the highest level I could and be as consistent a player as possible. Fortunately for me I've been lucky enough to get an opportunity at AFL level, and to be here now I'm really, really happy."

Eyeing Hawthorn

"It's exciting. We believe that over the last four or five weeks we've played a really consistent brand of football. Both teams are really hungry to build some momentum over the second half of the season, so Friday's game is going to be a really exciting challenge for us."

A call to the red and white faithful

"It's a great opportunity for the players to play Friday night footy. Big crowds are really important to us, and especially up here in NSW, we really value all the support we can get. We urge everyone to come along. It's always a great contest against Hawthorn Football Club. We've had a really competitive history with them in the past, so I really urge everyone to get along and provide some strong support for us."

Sydney's ruck stocks

"The fact Sam Naismith has been injured for a while has been unfortunate for him, but he's progressing really well in his recovery. Darcy Cameron has been playing some really good NEAFL footy for a few years now, so he's in a really good position with his footy. Having the addition of Hayden McLean and Michael Knoll has also been really positive for us. And I've got to give Sam Reid a plug as well; he obviously comes in for a pinch-hit and can be quite damaging in the ruck."
