If the Sydney Swans fancy themselves for an evening of sightseeing in Adelaide before flying home on Saturday night, they won’t be hard-pressed to find a tour guide in the know.

South Australians Jordan Dawson, George Hewett and Daniel Menzel will all enjoy a homecoming in Sydney’s clash with Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

Dawson has been flat out rummaging together tickets for a horde of friends and family members eager to see the young star run out in his home state.

His mum and dad, Marian and Tony, brother Jaryd and a host of former Scotch College schoolmates will all pile in to watch Dawson and the Swans tackle the Power.

And the 22-year-old, who’s carving out a breakthrough season in 2019, says he’s buzzing with excitement for Saturday’s game.

“I’m pretty stoked to be heading back home and playing in front of some mates and family from back there,” Dawson said.

“I’ve been looking forward to it for a while. It’ll mean a little bit more than usual to run out in my home state, but it’s always good to put the Swans jumper on. It’ll be a little bit more special and I will take it all in, but I’ve got a job to do and as soon as the siren goes I’ll be ready to play footy.”

Three South Australians in Hewett, Will Hayward and Heath Grundy donned the red and white when the Swans last visited Adelaide Oval in Round 22, 2017.

While Dawson is set for his first AFL match at Adelaide Oval, Hewett has featured in one and former Geelong Cat Daniel Menzel six.

But Dawson says there’ll be little room for sentimentality as the Swans collide with the Power.

“We just want to keep building over the last three rounds of the season,” Dawson said.

“We’ve been playing really well over the last month or so in patches, but we just want to make sure we’re playing four-quarter footy over the remainder of the season. That’s what’s driving us. We want to finish off the season well. Everyone’s competitive and no one wants to lose, so we just want to become more and more competitive over the remainder of the year.”
