Sydney Swans co-captain Luke Parker has another accolade to add to his achievements this year – being named the winner of the inaugural Bloods MVP Award.

It comes after Parker finished runner-up for the Bob Skilton Medal, took out the Swans Player’s Player Award, and finished equal-fifth overall for the Brownlow Medal.

The Bloods MVP Award is selected by Bloods 2020 Members, with voting open weekly across the season in a 3,2,1 system.

Members were asked to vote for players who showed resilience, put the team first, were hard and uncompromising – those who demonstrated the Bloods’ spirit.

Parker said he is honoured to receive the award.

“Unfortunately, we couldn’t have our members at games at certain times this year. When we were at the SCG it was incredible, but we know we have so many more members right around Australia and we can’t thank them enough for the support that they give us all year,” Parker said.

“Whether it’s at the game, or online, or in messages – the love that we feel from our members is incredible. It’s always exciting running out on game day, knowing that we are running out and making them proud.”

The Sydney Swans would like to thank all of our Bloods 2020 Members for their tremendous support across the season.

It was a challenging year for everyone, but you stood with us, and we can’t thank you enough.
