Strap yourself in for a huge super Saturday when the Sydney Swans take on Collingwood at the SCG in both the AFL and VFL competitions from 1:45pm.

In great news for Swans members and fans, the VFL clash will be a curtain closer following today’s senior match.

For the AFL side, they enter the clash off a 9-point defeat to the top of the table Melbourne Demons last week.

Isaac Heeney, Nick Blakey and George Hewett return for the clash, whilst Callum Sinclair, Colin O’Riordan and Errol Gulden drop out of the side.

Defender Jordan Dawson will play his 50th AFL game.

They face Collingwood, who currently sit 16th on the ladder, and are coming off an 18-point victory over North Melbourne last week.

Collingwood welcome Tom Wilson to their line up who will make his debut this weekend.

Collingwood have won the past two clashes by an average of 8-points, with the Swans last securing a victory over the opposition in Round 20 of the 2018 season.

In the VFL competition, the Sydney Swans will welcome back Sam Naismith for their Round five fixture, making his long awaited return.

After losses to Gold Coast and Geelong in Rounds 2 and 3 and their fixture last week against Casey being postponed, the Swans VFL side will be looking to bounce back and claim their second victory of the season.

The side will have 16 Swans-listed players.

The match kicks off at 4.45pm and can be live streamed on Kayo Freebies.

KEY QUOTES

John Longmire

"It's great to have Isaac back, he is obviously an important player for us and we are looking forward to seeing what he can do, wherever he plays."

"George has played quite a bit of footy for us so it's good to get him back too. Nick can play a variety of different roles for us, he has that flexibility, we know he has some real speed and is dangerous in the air or on the ground."

"Milestones are important, they signify a lot of work and he's [Jordan Dawson] been a regular part of our team for the last couple of years and he is a really important player to us."

Sam Naismith

“The love and support I’ve had from the footy club has been great. They’ve supported me with the off-field stuff and the on-field stuff. That’s definitely been a driving factor to come back, wanting to be a part of the group and get out there and play."

“Coming out of last year was quite disappointing, we weren’t winning too many games and that’s down to a lot of different factors but I think coming into this year we’ve got a really positive group," he said.

"We know what works and everyone’s bought in. It’s no real surprise to the playing group that we’re competitive this year, we know what it takes to win and instilling that in the young players and giving them a taste of what winning is like is infectious.“

“I’m not too concerned about where I’m sitting with footy, I just want to get back to enjoying it because it’s something I love. I had fallen out of love with it, now the enjoyment’s back and I just can’t wait to get out there.“
