In 2022 the Sydney Swans AFLW will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the club’s rich history and today the club has launched AFLW Foundation Membership.

The build up to the Swans inaugural AFLW season has begun and we are inviting you to be part of the journey.

Instrumental in the club’s journey to gaining an AFLW license is Executive General Manager Natalie Fagg, who is thrilled to see the Swans vision come to life.

“It’s taken five years to get to this point. We really feel like we’re not a whole club without a women’s team and that’s been really tough over the last couple of years," Fagg said.

"We had every intention of bidding initially, but we realised there were two key components that we were missing; one that we couldn’t house them the facility we currently have in Moore Park, and the second one was we needed to work on the talent pathway for women athletes in NSW. We needed more young girls playing footy.

"There’s been a lot of hard work going on in the background and we’re seeing the fruits of that labour with the QBE Youth Girls Academy producing some terrific talent, some of which we will see running out in Season 6 of the AFLW – unfortunately not for our club, but hopefully we can welcome more NSW based girls and more local heroes into the AFLW Sydney Swans program in 2022.”

Construction on Sydney’s iconic Royal Hall of Industries at Moore Park is underway as its transformed into Sydney Swans HQ, a world-class sporting and community hub.

“It’s going to be a way we can welcome members like we never have, it’s not just a community for our club but a community centre for everybody from the Sydney Swans perspective and member perspective and we can’t wait to welcome people into it.” Fagg said.

The Sydney Swans are working hard to build the AFLW program and hit the ground running in late 2022, and Fagg says key to the success will be the support of our members and fans with an AFLW Foundation Membership.

“This is an opportunity to be there from the start and it’s a really exciting time to invest in our future," she said.

"This is history. There’s only one chance to be first.

"We can’t wait to welcome as many people as possible and set some new records doing it.

"We’ll have terrific talent represented from Sydney so that people can come and watch their local heroes run around in an elite competition, and I simply can’t wait, it will be amazing.”

Be part of history and be there from the start. We invite you to be part of the journey as an AFLW Foundation Member.
