Like all Victorian games, the team will wear the Red V for Heritage Round against Melbourne at the MCG in Round 12.

The Sydney Swans will celebrate its proud history during Heritage Week which will take place the week of the Round 12 match against the Melbourne Demons at the MCG.

As with all Victorian fixtures, the team will wear the famous red-V heritage guernsey, worn by South Melbourne dating back to 1932 and made famous by Bloods Legends including Bob Skilton, Peter Bedford, Bob Pratt, Ron Clegg and J.Herbie Matthews.

The Sydney Swans of today were born out of a meeting held at South Melbourne Temperance Hall on June 19, 1874. South Melbourne won league premierships in 1909, 1918 and wore the famous red-V to success in 1933.

Heritage Week will be celebrated with various events and activities, with the headline event, the Hall of Fame Dinner, returning to Melbourne after more than a decade. There will also be an open training session at the MCG ahead of the match against the Demons and a pre-game member event.
