Lauren Szigeti in action at a Sydney Swans AFLW session.

It's less than a month until history is made and our AFLW team play their first game at North Sydney Oval against St Kilda on Saturday August 27.

Before this historic occasion, Sydney Swans members and fans will have several chances to see the team in action.

The first opportunity will be this Friday August 5 when the team will take on cross-town rivals, the GWS GIANTS in a match simulation session at Lakeside Oval, opposite the SCG and Sydney Swans office on Driver Ave from 6pm.

The following week the team will have their first official practice match against Collingwood on Saturday August 13 at Blacktown.

As the countdown to the team's first season in the AFLW competition continues, Sydney Swans AFL Assistant Coach Baker Denneman said the side has been working hard on the track and will continue to work on gelling together as a team.

"The playing group are excited and looking forward to playing against quality opposition over the next fortnight with match simulation against the GIANTS and then our first official practice match against Collingwood the following week," Denneman said.

"The players have only been together for seven weeks, but it's been a productive pre-season so far. The group are continually learning about each other, so the ability to be able to build on these connections and implement the game plan under high pressure match situations, will only hold them in good stead heading towards the start of the season."
