SWANS CELEBRATING 40 YEARS IN SYDNEY

Forty years ago, our club embarked on the most incredible journey. From South Melbourne and the Lake Oval, the Swans flew north to create a new home for themselves and the entire sport. They landed on the SCG, and history was made in Round One, 1982.

The weekend we will celebrate 40 years in the Harbour City with a host of activities to mark the occasion. Coming to the game? Wear your best Swans kit of old!

Keep your eyes out on Driver Avenue for a photo opportunity with our 2005 and 2012 premiership cups and handouts of our retro player cards showcasing some of the greats to pull on the red and white.

Ahead of the game, keep your eyes on the big screen with some flashback videos highlighting some of the best moments in our recent history.

Our inaugural AFLW team will be introduced to the crowd before they form part of the guard of honour ahead of the AFLW team’s run out.

At half time, led by Josh Kennedy, some of our past players will complete a lap of honour around the hallowed turf of the SCG before a special performance by English-born Australian musician Mike Brady!

As the official match-day partner, QBE have also provided some lucky members and fans with the opportunity to play in the Legends Game with some past Swans players, including Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Nick Smith, Mike Pyke & Troy Luff. The modified match will be played in the lead up to the main game.

MILESTONES

Swans forward Isaac Heeney will play his 150th AFL game this weekend.
