The Sydney Swans have marked an exciting milestone ahead of the 2025 NAB AFLW season, with nine new players receiving their Sydney guernsey for the first time at the club's AFLW Guernsey Presentation on Wednesday night.
New recruits Imogen Brown, Darcy Moloney, Jas Grierson, Lulu Pullar, Caitlin Reid, Ash Van Loon, Amelia Martin, Sarah Steele-Park and Zippy Fish were welcomed to the red and white, with inaugural Sydney AFLW stars Alana Woodward and Brooke Lochland on hand to present their 2025 guernseys.
In an address to players, coaches, staff and special guests, co-captain Chloe Molloy paid tribute to the hard work the team had put in over the pre-season.
“This pre-season we’ve already seen new personal bests set, on the track, in the gym, and in the way we’re attacking our standards," Molloy said.
"These moments aren’t just numbers or times, they’re proof of the work we’ve been putting in, the sacrifices we’ve made, and the belief we have in each other.
"As we look ahead to the season, let’s remember that every match is an opportunity to demonstrate our unity, resilience, and passion. Let’s wear our guernsey with pride, play with heart, and support each other every step of the way."
Sydney will kick off its 2025 campaign, the club’s fourth season in the AFLW competition, at North Sydney Oval on August 15 in a clash with Richmond.
Senior coach Scott Gowans also addressed the room, sharing his aspirations for the season ahead.
"We want to feel like we belong in the competition. We think we gained some confidence through the practice games so far, we're healthy, we're fit, and we're ready to go," Gowans said.
"We want to aim to play a brand of footy for others to follow, setting the bar so high that most teams won't be able to reach it, the type of footy that is tough, connected and unapologetically relentless.
"Since last season, this group has trained hard, pushed limits and grown closer together. The new players in the squad have brought a hunger and a fire to the group that has pushed everybody to be better."
Incoming Sydney Swans CEO Matthew Pavlich was also in attendance to witness the presentation.
The 2025 AFLW playing group was proudly dressed by Farage Australia.
