The Sydney Swans 1- 4 year players returned to the track on Monday morning officially launching the 2026 pre-season.

The group wasted no time getting back into work with a 2km time trial at Centennial Park before moving into a series of skill drills and running blocks.

All eyes were on Sydney's newest recruit Charlie Curnow who also took part in the skills and running session in his first training in new colours.

Young midfielder Caiden Cleary set the tone in the time trial, crossing first in an impressive performance. He was closely followed by Corey Warner in second, while Riley Bice rounded out the top three.

Following the time trial, the group moved into a mix of running, skills, and competitive drills, blowing out the cobwebs as the squad looks ahead to 2026.

There was plenty of excitement as Curnow hit the track for his first official session and joined teammates for running and skills as he starts to settle into life in the harbour city.

28-year old Curnow joined Sydney on the final day of the trade period last month and said he has enjoyed settling into Sydney life and getting straight into the swing of things.

“Yeah, it was good. I just tried to jump on the back of Corey and Caiden in the running," Curnow said.

"There’s some impressive guys out there, and everyone looks pretty sharp as you’d expect in pre-season. It was a good first hit-out.”

Several senior Swans joined Curnow on the track for official skills including fellow forwards Joel Amartey and Hayden McLean alongside Justin McInerney who was also spotted on the track.

Curnow is set to meet the remainder of his teammates in coming weeks with the rest of the squad joining in a fortnight for their pre-Christmas training block.

“I guess it’s just about getting to know everyone, meeting the coaching staff, and getting close with Laids (Jeremy Laidler). I’m looking forward to meeting everyone properly and getting some sun out in Sydney, so it’s going to be good fun.”
