Having represented the Sydney Swans in a women’s exhibition game in 2016, Maddy Collier returned to the red and white in 2022 after six seasons with the GWS Giants and West Coast Eagles. Her experience in the AFLW saw Collier join the inaugural leadership group, however managed just five games in the 2022 season due to injury. Unfortunately, Collier has been ruled out of the 2023 season after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament at training. Coach Scott Gowans said: “I coached against Maddy and noticed just how tough and hard she is in the contest. She shows great leadership on the field and she’s a great communicator. In selecting Maddy, we knew that we would have a player that we could help drive the on-field learning for the younger girls.
