Sam Reid will be monitored throughout the week after suffering tightness in his groin.

The Sydney Swans will sweat on the fitness of Kurt Tippett and Sam Reid ahead of Saturday night’s Pride Game against St Kilda.

Reid played limited game time against
GWS after tweaking his groin early in Saturday night’s 13-point win.

Head of Football Tom Harley said a decision on whether Reid faced the Saints would be made later in the week.

“Sam did tighten up in his groin early in the game and he was limited in what he could do out on the field,” Harley said.

“We assessed him at injury clinic this morning
and we will continue to monitor him throughout the week.

“We will test him a bit earlier in the week to make a definitive call about his status for this weekend.”

The prognosis for Tippett is more positive after he was forced from the field just after half time of the NEAFL curtain raiser on Saturday.

“Kurt was due to play 80 minutes in the NEAFL and just after half time he presented with some groin tightness,” Harley said.

“There is nothing too serious at this stage after having our injury clinic this morning.

“We will assess him as the week goes on but we expect him to train and play.

A precautionary approach was taken with first-year forward Oliver Florent who missed Saturday’s NEAFL match with footsoreness.

Harry Cunningham remains at least another week away from a return to football in his recovery from a foot injury.
