The Sydney Swans congratulate Stuart Dew on his appointment as the senior coach of the Gold Coast Suns.

Dew joined the Swans at the end of the 2009 season and has held a number of coaching roles at the club, overseeing defence, development, stoppages, and most recently, senior assistant to John Longmire.

A premiership player at Port Adelaide and Hawthorn, and veteran of 206 AFL games, his football knowledge and experience have made Dew a highly regarded member of the coaching team.

Sydney Swans coach John Longmire has thanked Dew for his service.

“Stuart has been a tremendous asset to our football club and I’m thrilled to see him take the next step in his coaching career, I know he will embrace the challenge with the same enthusiasm he has brought to our club every day,” Longmire said.

“Over the journey, he’s established trusted relationships with players and staff right across the club.

“We would like to thank Stuart for his contribution to our team and we wish him, Sarah, Frankie and Jack all the very best for the future.”
