It doesn’t get much better than the third ranked Fantasy side (Port Adelaide) up against the team ranked fourth overall (Swans) at the SCG on Saturday afternoon. Not to mention it’s first up against third on the real AFL ladder.

What did you take out of our round 12 match, Fantasy wise?

Lotts:
While it was great to get the points against a very good side in the Gold Coast, it wasn’t the best Fantasy week for the Swans. The highest score of 106 was shared between Kieren Jack (MID $535,168) and Dan Hannebery (MID $543,135) while Josh Kennedy (MID $592,048) was the only other player to crack the ton with 103.

Sub-elite Legends: There was a lot to live up to after the magic that was the Geelong game. It was a solid win for the boys at Metricon without any notable standouts. It was good to see the likes of Cunningham, Reid, Jetta and Parker contribute with multiple goals, especially Cunningham and Reid who really looked to have found some good form.

Who’s your Swans player of the week?

Lotts:
It’s got to be Nick Malceski (DEF $470,572) for me this week. He backed up his monster score against Geelong with a very respectable 90 against the Suns. Malcho is averaging a career high 91.4 points a game this year so if you don’t have him in your side get on board now.

Sub-elite Legends: Harry Cunningham (MID $265,969) has not had a season of huge fantasy scores but he has done a bunch of great defensive roles and played an important part. On the weekend he popped up with four goals and a handy 67 points considering his price, so it was great to see him get some reward for effort and have a big impact for the side.

Which Swans player would you choose as your captain for the next game?

Lotts:
Well I hate to say you’re right, but I’m going to swallow my pride and agree with your comments from last week that I shouldn’t be rolling the dice in AFL Fantasy. Nevertheless, I’ve got to dust myself off and focus on our upcoming opponent. This week, the best bet for the captaincy is Dan Hannebery. Hanners has been in great touch lately scoring 105, 101, 143 and 120 in his past four matches so I’m expecting something similar against the Power.

Sub-elite Legends: JPK all the way! Josh Kennedy (MID $592,048) is averaging nearly 10 points a game more than every other Swan. He hasn’t dipped below 100 points in eight weeks and will be setting himself for a huge performance against ladder leaders Port Adelaide.

Next up is the Port Adelaide at the SCG, who are the players to look out for from the Power?

Lotts:
The Power have guns in all areas of the ground, but it’s a couple of their midfielders who have been leading the way this season. Brad Ebert (MID $510,308) and Kane Cornes (MID $517,973) are ranked ninth and tenth overall in AFL Fantasy, averaging 106 points a game.

Sub-elite Legends: The Power mids certainly are a handful, but equally they have some Fantasy contenders in the forward half of the ground. Robbie Gray (FWD,MID $485,347), Justin Westhoff (FWD $411,826) and Chad Wingard (FWD,MID $389,992) have all looked dangerous throughout this season and you only need to look at last week where Wingard and Gray notched up 125 and 124 points respectively - not to mention Wingard putting a firm grip on this year’s Mark of the Year .

Any changes this week for your team?

Lotts:
I’m going to bite the bullet and get rid of Trent Cotchin (MID $500.324). I got him and Josh Kennedy at the start of the year as they were two guns who were way underpriced. After a slowish start to the year, for some reason I traded out Kennedy and kept Cotchin. Probably not my best decision. So this week Cotchin is going to go, maybe for Josh Kennedy! Or Steve Johnson (MID $537,336) is underpriced at the moment so he may also find his way into my team. Although his price is set to drop even further in the coming weeks with a breakeven of 154 this week.

Sub-elite Legends: I have some underperforming forwards I need to get rid of so I have decided to drop St Kilda’s Jack Billings (FWD,MID $312,740) and Richmond’s Sam Lloyd (FWD $286,531) for affordable West Coast rookie Jeremy McGovern (FWD $155,160) who notched up 88 points in his second game last week, and Craig Bird (FWD,MID $465,631) who has really lifted his output with more midfield minutes this year.
